RATs; What are They and Where to Get Them
Rapid antigen tests or RATs are self administered tests done independently or with supervision of a healthcare professional. The test is a frontal nose swab with results being available from 15 to 20 minutes after the test is performed. The tests are available for free at testing sites but are limited to close contacts and symptomatic individuals. RATs will also be readily available for purchase at pharmacies, retail stores and select supermarkets (Foodstuffs shops: PAK’nSAVE, New World, and Four Square) from next week March 7, 2022. For a complete list of locations that stock RATs refer to this Healthpoint Page and for a list of pharmacies that provide supervised testing refer to this Healthpoint Page.
